About Samantha
Sam is a JD candidate at the University of Ottawa English Common Law Faculty. Prior to law school, she studied Public Policy at Dartmouth College with a focus on how public systems make policy that engages with the multi-faceted needs of individuals. While considering this question she built a foundation of research skills, serving as a research assistant to a Government Professor and a research intern for an educational equity non-profit.
Most recently, she combined her interests in research and direct service as a Dartmouth College Lombard Public Service Fellow with the Dream Project. In this role, she analyzed the impact of Virginia state policy on immigrant students’ higher education and career options and shared her findings with the Dream Project community through presentations, manuals, and policy briefs.
She also served as coordinator for the organization’s scholarship award process and high school mentoring program. This experience prompted Sam to seek a legal career in which she collaborates with clients to address their legal concerns while drawing attention to how systemic factors influence their situations.
